The title of the message from Sunday, September 08, 2019 is “Tidying Up.” The message is based on Ezekiel 37:7-14 that boldly refers to the broken relationship between God and the believers in exile. In this well-known text from Ezekiel, we see both the results of a broken relationship with God (dry bones) and the promise of revitalization (the bones come to life and are given flesh). Part of being willing to invite people into the kingdom or kinship of God is being willing to go into new places to those invitations. This includes going into the empty, forgotten spaces that like the valley of the dry bones Ezekiel describes appear lifeless. A bold promises offers an opportunity to discover a “new normal” and hope. “I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act, says the Lord.” Ezekiel 37:14 NRSV Experience Christ with us at Saint Andrew United Methodist Church.
