When lockdown was eased, I set out to hike the Anglesey Coastal Path in Wales on a whim.

What started under a bright sky quickly turned dark, bringing in rain, fog & gloom.

Not enough decompression from being cooped up in the city, sleepless rainy nights on windy sea shores, pushing the body too fast too quickly, the ever present physical discomforts turning into injuries.

When you’re all alone up against the elements, and things just don’t go as planned, the only thing your mind can come up with is ‘Why?’.

‘Why am I here?’

‘What am I doing here?’

‘What am I trying to find?’

Whatever it was. I wasn’t finding it on the sofa.

Like a rip current I was pulled in, carried away, and up washed up ashore beaten down.

I bailed out after roughly 100km. I can’t wait to drift back one day.
