About God – The Bible tells us that the Lord was with Joseph, even in his hardest experiences. How has God been with you in your hardest times? How did you see his character staying the same, even if your circumstances didn’t seem to indicate this truth?
About Me – We have all suffered things that seem to make no sense at the time they occur. Which
pieces of the big puzzle are missing from your life right now? How do you think God may be using them to complete the big picture one day?
Community – Joseph’s family was dysfunctional, yet their poor choices propelled Joseph into Egypt,
where he could bless them and many other nations during a famine. How might God use something difficult that happened to you to bless others in your community?
Mission – Jacob had small glimpses of the big picture of Joseph’s life, and years later, saw that full
picture take form. How do you see glimpses of the big picture in others’ lives that they may not see? Who can you give hope to this week by telling them about the big picture you see God working out for them?
Write down one specific action you’ll take in each of those three areas this week so your faith can grow stronger.
Prayer: Father, your Word promises you will work all things together for my good if I love you and am called according to your purposes. Yet it’s hard to see your purposes in some of the difficult circumstances I face. Help me trust you are at work every day, even when I can’t see or feel it. In my time of waiting, build my hope in you. May the Holy Spirit give me clues of the good things you are working in my life, even in the hardest times. Give me confidence that you have started good works in me and will carry them to completion in your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
