In the Fall season in the Northern Hemisphere there are many changes happening with weather and also with schedules that brings about some stress to the body. To bring about unified and coordinated action between the body and the mind, there should be looking as much as doing. In order to understand what should be done and how, we have to look at what the conditions of the body (and beyond) are at the beginning of practice, in the middle of practice and so on. Practice shouldn’t be inflicted from the ego to make something happen on unwilling cells. If conditions are tiredness or shaky nerves, one should practice with support to care for all the cells of the body, including the nerves and the brain, so they aren’t strained or irritated. They can be soothed and strengthened through supported practice and even quiet breathing. This mixed level 75 minute mixed level class teaches head supported standing forward extensions, inversions etc. in order to care for the energetic sheath of body, relating to hormones, nervous system, breathing/lungs, digestion etc. Alternative poses are provided for menstruation.
