The result of a three-year investigation by local artist Jan Ross-Manley into how the Great Barrier Reef has come to hold such a dear place in the hearts and minds of Australians. Telling the story through art, objects and memorabilia, the exhibition shows how the colourful ‘Wonder of the World’ has become a national treasure, imprinted onto the very core of Aussie DNA. There is a particular emphasis on the Capricornia and Bunker section of the Southern Great Barrier Reef, located in the Gladstone Region.
