The link between smell and taste is a favorite refrain in the world of independent perfumery, but the details of how flavors actually get used (and get made) are not always so easy to understand. We’re excited to explore the wonderful world of retronasal olfaction with flavors industry veteran Bayyana Davis. In an informal conversation, we will discuss flavors marketing, the business of flavors, and much more in this latest edition of Meet a Nose.

ABOUT ‘MEET A NOSE’
A “nose” is a term traditionally used to describe the people whose profession it is to compose perfume. However, we all have noses, and we all use them, daily. In a way, we’re all noses, and some of us use ours as part of our life’s work.
It is with this in mind that the IAO is pleased to introduce our online conversation series, ‘Meet a Nose’. Each episode takes the form of a one-hour moderated discussions, where extraordinary thinkers, singular artists, and distinctive perfumers from around the world share their unique perspectives on what it means to be a sensorial human in the world.
In order to preserve the informal atmosphere, each conversation is moderated by someone with a meaningful connection to the guest – business partners, friends or even family members. Topics of discussion will meander and twist – from creative practice to wherever the conversation takes us.
