Gliding Space @ TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA
Gliding Space is a movement practice that was developed after many years of research and development in diverse movement, healing and spiritual practices. Its aim is to offer a profound embodied practice and at the same time to acknowledge and integrate all the bodies human kind is comprised by: physical, psychological, emotional, and energy bodies. The practice integrates the profound dance languages of Flying Low (FL), Passing Through (PT), Contact Improvisation (CI), Release Technique (RT), movement coordination of Somatics and Forsythe Improvisation Technologies (FIT) together with spiritual and healing modalities Yoga, Qigong, Thai & Abdominal Massage, Craniosacral, meditation as well as philosophies of Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism.
Legakis was at the 50 days Flying Low and Passing Through project in 2010 developed and taught by David Zambrano, and ever since he has been deepening his research and teaching across the world in both practices by integrating diverse movement, dance, energy and healing modalities. His main question was “where is the threshold and limit when you cannot call a technique its title because it has started sifting from its original form?”
Legakis has now developed Gliding Space practice that is based on different profound movement styles and languages but shifts and becomes a different practice of its own by integrating and embodying the body, mind, heart and the spirit in unique ways.
Gliding Space is the moment when the dancer becomes one with the actual Space (internal & external); and with heightened mindfulness, the dancer Glides through Space and Time.
It is a profound physical, energetic and spiritual practice that brings you in a state of being in which you transcend through dance, energy, healing and spirituality.
