UNICEF now regard climate change to be the biggest issue facing our planet, and for good reason, but a local mum from Drumnadrochit in the Scottish Highlands believes that the size of the issue can also leave people feeling helpless, deterring them from the action so desperately needed from individuals within communities around the globe.

In this inspiring and deeply moving film, we follow the story of Kat Lee, as she strives to build a community garden in Drumnadrochit, a small village on the western shore of Loch Ness, with the aim of giving the local community access to good healthy food, so that nobody in the village will go hungry. Inspired by the bleak future posed by climate change for her own children, Kat goes on a journey to enlist friends and other members of the Drum community, in a bold bid to see her project become a reality.

Along the way, the community find that their small efforts to reduce their carbon footprint begin to gather interest from further afield, having the incredible benefit of reducing social isolation by bringing people together. And the story doesn’t stop here; through their humility, perseverance and genuine care for the plight of the next generation, Kat and her friends aim to make it easier for other villages to follow their lead. They know their community garden is a small start but their message is simple:

It only takes one match to start a huge fire, so let’s make a difference together.
