Originally posted in December of 2016, this film was Patrick Smith’s favorite of his student films, but he never felt like it was finished. Now, in May of 2019, Patrick finally has delivered the Remaster Cut that has long lied dormant. On select screens in the Birmingham area, this film will screen in its full 4K Remastered Version, but you can view the updated film in 720p here on Vimeo at your leisure. This film still contains a lot of warts that just couldn’t be edited away (they would need extensive reshoots to fix at this point), but we hope it still inspires you to create something of your own and entertains you for its 12.5 minute runtime. The best a creator can ever hope for is that you enjoy your time with this film at least as much as we did making it. This film truly is a labor of love from all parties involved, from the initial storyboarding session between Smith, Sparks, and Hubbard to the Final Cut process with the entire team.

“This film was a blast to make and we’ve only loved it more since we originally screened it all those years ago. I still remember our first screening like it was yesterday: the lights dimmed and I stood at the back of the classroom breathless (I had just finished exporting the film not even 15 minutes prior) waiting for the laughter in all the right places. I think we nailed it, but I always wanted to cut the film as if I had had all the time I actually wanted (and lowkey needed). So here is my updated version for your viewing pleasure. I love this film and I hope you enjoy it too.” – Patrick Smith
